Haratio was walking in one of Runescapes biggest cities, Varrock. He had visited the market and had traded and sold many goods. He was heading towards the nearest in when he saw a little tent sitting all by itself. Outside was an odd looking eye that stared at him menacingly. He entered and was surprised to see an old looking woman sitting in a chair under the sign Gypsy Arises magical fortune telling. Hello young one the gypsy said, would you like your future o be told. Haratio thought about and eventually came to the conclusion that no harm could be done. Ok he said, I’ll do it. Excellent muttered the old woman, sit down please. Haratio sat down while the gypsy studied his palm. Hmm she said, your future is tricky, I will have to use my crystal ball, put your hand on it. As Haratio did so the gypsy eyes widened. Oh no she whispered, he is coming. Who Haratio asked suddenly realising that perhaps a quest was afoot. Delrith, the gypsy exclaimed, the demon general of Zamorak, and she whispered you must defeat him. Then her eyes returned to their normal size and she grabbed Haratio by his shirt, go to the palace and find Sir Pyrsin he will tell you everything.
Suddenly Haratio found himself outside Varrock palace. He tried to recover what had happened but his mind was still fuzzy from the teleport. He walked up to one of the guards and asked him where he could find Sir Pyrsin. The guard told him to look on the first floor in the first room on the right. Haratio thanked the guard and walked into the huge palace he took the guards instructions and found himself outside a large door with a royal seal on it. He knocked and was answered with a grumpy whose there. Haratio Rolodes of Falador, I have come from Gypsy Aris said Haratio. There was a pause and the door opened revealing a man with neat hair that was all messed up from someone rubbing it. What does that old hag want then he said. She says that I am the one to kill umm Delrith the demon. Hmm said the man so my grandfathers work wasn’t enough then. What do you mean? Said Haratio. Well said Sir Pyrsin who was obviously the man. Many years ago my grandfather Sir Wally.... Wally? Said Haratio in a sarcastic voice, that’s hardly a hero’s name. Stop interrupting Said sir Pyrsin anyway years ago Wally was travelling the lands when he saw that Varrock was being attacked by a mighty and evil demon Delrith. Wally instructed his friend Thurgo to smith a sword from the rare demonic ore to make Silverlight a sword that could kill demons so effectively you could kill even the most powerful of them in one strike. Wally took the sword, Silverlight and banished Delrith to another realm as Delrith was too powerful to be killed. Wally banished him using a magical incantation that that gypsy will probably tell you about. Do you have the sword now? Haratio asked. I suppose I do said the knight but the king thought it was unstable and ordered me to lock in a chest which could only be unlocked with 3 keys. The first I kept but unfortunately I dropped it down the drain outside the palace. The second key I was forced to give to the leader of the Varrock guard who I despise and the third I gave to my good friend Traiborn of the wizard’s tower. Where should I start? Asked Haratio. I suggest starting with that foolish leader of the Varrock guard as he is not dangerous or difficult said the Sir Pyrsin. Thank you said Haratio where can I find him. He has his own personal tower, the arrogant moron muttered Sir Pyrsin. Thank you said Haratio and exited the room. As Haratio walked around the palace he saw a tower that was swarming with guards. He distracted the guards by banging on a suit of armour and then running up to the top of the tower. He was met by a haughty looking man who shouted at him what are you doing here, how did you get up here, why did the guards let you through. Shut up and think shouted Haratio, I’m looking for Sir Pyrsins key. Why I should give you the key, so you can help that old coot said Captain Rovin. No said Haratio more calmly now so I can defeat the demon Delrith. What you said Captain Rovin cynically, you a mere child save Varrock. Well I can tell you that I have helped many people save their cities from war Captain said an indignant Haratio, so if you don’t mind he said and held out his hand. All right said Rovin and handed over the key, the only reason I’m doing this he said in a sly manner is because I want to see that pompous sir Pyrsin and that mad old gypsy humiliated when you fail. He handed Haratio a strange looking key and then ordered him to leave.
Haratio walked out of the tower and was about to consult Sir Pyrsin when he noticed an orange key that was about to fall down into a black hole inside a drain. This must be sir Pyrsins key thought Haratio. He wondered if he could reach it but cut his fingers on the edge of the drain in the process. Then Haratio had a brainwave. He walked into the Varrock kitchens and went up to the head chef. Where does that drain lead? he said and pointed at it. To the Varrock sewers on the North Drainage pipe answered the cook. Thank you said Haratio and walked to the manhole which covered up the sewer. He opened it and climbed down the ladder and found himself in between 4 sewage pipes. He headed to the Northern one and saw the key above him. He saw a rotten old bucket and filled it up with water and threw the water at the key. It caused the key to fall into his hands.
Haratio was flushed with success as he headed towards the wizards tower. He arrived outside it and asked one of the wizards where he could find Traiborn. The wizard pointed to the second floor. When Haratio entered the wizard’s tower he walked up the ladder and saw an odd looking wizard who was chanting some spells. He walked up to the wizard and said is your name Traiborn. Why yes answered the wizard, I am. If it wouldn’t be too much to ask said Haratio, do you have one of the keys that unlocks the chest that Silverlight is in. Why yes answered the wizard, I do, but he said when my friend Charles Pyrsin gave it to me I realised it was important so I locked it in a chest of my own which can only be unlocked when I am given I bone and a pot of vinegar, I will then he continued preceded to cast a spell which will unlock the chest. I need the key to unlock the chest said Haratio, if I brought the items to you would open it. A friend of Charles is a friend of mine. Wait said Haratio I didn’t say I was a friend of sir Pyrsin. I know said Traiborn but I am a wizard we know a lot.
Haratio exited the tower and wondered where he could get a bone without killing something. Suddenly he had a brain wave. Haratio walked into the wizard’s tower and climbed down the ladder that lead strait to the dungeon. He knew that it had once burned down so there would be remains of those who died. Haratio saw what he was looking for picked up the bone and blessed it so that he was doing no wrong by taking it from the body. He exited the wizard’s tower and headed to Draynor village. Once there he walked to the market place and saw who he was looking for. Fortuna a wine salesman was advertising his products which mainly included wine but also strangely included vinegar. Vine get your wonderful wine here shouted Fortuna. As Haratio walked up to him Fortuna noticed him and started to bug him about buying his wine and eventually Haratio had to shout to get his attention, I DO NOT WANT WINE bellowed Haratio I WANT VINEGAR. Vinegar muttered Fortuna, that’s a strange request still, if it pleases my customer. Thank you said Haratio who was now thinking that this quest was getting tedious. As he headed back to the tower Haratio felt his legs start to ache, if he really was going to defeat a demon he thought, he might as well feel strong. Haratio entered the tower and climbed up to the second floor. Traiborn greeted him and Haratio handed the bones and vinegar over. Traiborn took out a small chest and a strange device. He put the bone into the strange device and the put the chest underneath it, crushed bone fell onto it. Then Traiborn poured the vinegar onto the chest and muttered a little spell, the chest clicked open and inside was a little key. Good luck defeating the demon said Traiborn. Thank you said Haratio.
Haratio walked to Varrock and arrived outside the palace he walked in and strode over to sir Pyrsins room. He knocked and was answered by a grumpy whose there. It’s me said Haratio, Haratio Rolodes I have found all the keys now let me in. The door suddenly flew open and inside was an exited looking man whose grumpy expression was gone and was replaced by pure excitement. Give them to me then he said frantically. Ok said Haratio and handed them over. Sir Pyrsin rushed over to a locked cupboard and withdrew a key, he unlocked the cupboard and inside was a large silver chest. Sir Pyrsin put the first key in and turned it and then the second and finally the third, there was a sound of clicking and whirring and then the chest sprang open revealing a huge silver sword that glistened with magic. In the hilt there was a diamond but what was stranger was that the hilt was made of Gold. Now go and ask the gypsy about the incantation and hurry said sir Pyrsin, my scouts are telling me that the dark wizards are beginning to summon Delrith.
Haratio exited the palace and headed to the gypsies tent. When Aris saw him she asked whether he had Silverlight, Haratio pulled the sword out of his bag and showed it to her. Sir Pyrsin said that I need to ask you for a magical incantation that I must use to banish Delrith said Haratio. Hmmm yes said the gypsy I remember. Well she muttered I may have forgotten it or it might be the wrong but...... just say what you think it is and hurry said and irritated Haratio. Alright, alright muttered the gypsy young ones these days puh! Well.. said Haratio what is it. I think its umm Caber.... Aller.... Callabari, yes that’s it. Thank you said Haratio and ran out of the tent and out of the gates. What he saw made his blood boil.
Just outside Varrock there was a stone circle with dark wizards all around it. What looked like their leader was standing near a circular stone table and was muttering something , then all of a sudden a portal opened and a beast so vile that even the leader shivered appeared. Delrith was huge, many of the dark wizards cowered away in fear at the sight of him. He was red but covered with black stripes. His fangs were huge and drool was coming out of them. Haratio rushed into the circle. The leader shouted and cast a spell at him but Haratio ducked and a dark wizard exploded. Nooooo shouted the leader who Haratio recognised to be Denalth the leader of the dark wizards, Silverlight, Delrith is not yet at his full power, I’m out of here. He and most of the wizards ran but 3 stayed behind and attacked Haratio. Haratio was ready though and hit a pillar with his sword. It smashed through it and the pillar toppled on top of the 2 wizards. The 3rd cast a spell but Haratio reacted quickly and knocked the wizard out with the flat of Silverlight. Delrith noticed the sword and snorted. Haratio charged and attacked Delrith. As soon as Silverlight touched Delrith an explosion of lightning hit him and Delrith was thrown against a pillar. He got up and charged at Haratio but another touch and he was thrown against the table. He didn’t get up. Haratio realised that now was the time to banish him so he began the incantation, he just hoped the gypsy was right. Caber.... now what was the next word, Delrith stirred Allum.... no wait what was it, Delrith slowly sat up, Haratio saw this and suddenly remembered, Aller.... CALLABARI he bellowed, Delrith tried to grab hold of him as the porthole appeared but was to slow and with a mighty howl Delrith was gone.
When it was all over Haratio collapsed and didn’t wake up for some time. But when he did he saw gypsy Aris tending to him. He was about to get up but the gypsy Aris stopped him. Sleep my young hero sleep she said I knew you were destined for greatness, Varrock is in your debut. And Haratio fell asleep knowing that she was right.
