Shutters in Cairo

Managing the shutters on my building high up in a wind

Is like hauling in the sails on a tall ship somewhere

Bound on an ocean

Through southern seas endless with waves

Humpbacked green breaking white

With a strange fizzing sound

Outside my building I hear the loudspeakers

Crackle and sound

With the call to prayer
