poem about Egyptian Dogs

A dog barks in the night outside my window

A dog barks in the night outside my window

Tethered dogs in the dirt poor yard

This one barks like a car that won’t start

turning over and over

on a waning battery.

Egypt; the interchangebility of noise, animal and mechanical,

Life inhabiting levels of sound outside and not inside

Our heads.
